This is the time to acknowledge Jesus in our lives.

“Everyone who acknowledges me before others, I will acknowledge before my heavenly Father. But whoever denies me before others, I will deny before my heavenly Father.” (Mt 10:32,33) The ending words in today’s Gospel should not be taken lightly, especially considering all the transgressions against the true human values that we witness every day in these times.

Every time we support any organization that promotes false human values, we are denying Jesus; every time we support any organization that promotes and facilitates abortions, we are denying Jesus; every time we support any organization that insults the dignity of marriage, we are denying Jesus; every time we support any organization that blasphemes against Jesus, against our Blessed Mother Mary, against all consecrated religious women and men, we are denying Jesus.

Are we saying what the disciples said at one point, “This saying is hard; who can accept it”? (Jn 6:60). Jesus is asking each one of us now, “Do you also want to leave?” (Jn 6:67).

This is the time when we can respond like Peter, “Master, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.” (Jn 6:68). This is the time when just coming to Mass on Sunday is not enough, something more is required. This is the time when we need to strengthen our faith through a renewed love to the Eucharist, the real presence of Jesus, His Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity. This is the time to acknowledge Jesus in our lives.

“The Spirit of truth will testify to me, says the Lord; and you also will testify.” (Jn 15:26b,27a)
