Always remembering Mary

"Rejoice, full of grace, the Lord is with you." Luke 1:27

Throughout the Holy Scripture (The Holy Bible/Word of God) we meet a number of men and women who lived a profound experience of God in their lives. From each one of them we could learn a lot, the call of God, their vocation, mission, witness, his writings etc. From all of them there is a lesson for our Christian life. The young Jewish woman Mary of Nazareth stands out. Of this extraordinary woman, the following highlights:

She is a woman of unwavering faith. Her faith is manifested from her "yes" to the call to be a mother of the Redeemer. Despite her youth and little experience, she dares to launch herself into being a wife and mother. Committed and brave woman.

She is a woman "of evangelization", that is, she shares her profound experience of God. He does not stay at home, in his comfort zone and convenience. She shares her call with others and sets an example of giving and service.

She is a woman who accompanies in pain, in abandonment, in suffering. She is close to those who suffer, victims of injustice and marginalization. These three experiences of faith, evangelization and company are for the community of faith a whole school of humanity, fraternity and solidarity. Within the framework of the renewal of our Christian communities in the light of Francis' pontificate, we would have to promote a continuous process of growth and pastoral renewal. Mary of Nazareth can serve us as a reference in the process of "pastoral conversion" of our parishes and faith communities. May our Lady of Mount Carmel pray for us. Amen.
