From the Parish School

Dear Parish and School Families,

As we gather to celebrate the Feast of All Souls, my heart is drawn to the quiet moments of remembrance that this sacred day invites. In our Catholic tradition, November 2nd is set aside to honor and pray for all the faithful departed, our loved ones, our ancestors, and even those who have no one left to pray for them by name. It is a beautiful and solemn reminder that in Christ, death does not end our story, it transforms it.

At school, our students learn that we are part of something much bigger than ourselves: the Communion of Saints, a spiritual family that stretches across heaven and earth. We speak to our children about the importance of prayer, memory, and hope, that when we light a candle or say a quiet prayer for someone we’ve lost, we are living our faith in the most profound way.

As a principal, I am often privileged to witness how deeply children understand love and loss. Whether it’s a grandparent, a friend, or even a pet, their prayers are sincere and their faith pure. On this feast, I invite all of us, as parents, educators, and faithful Catholics, to do the same: to pause, remember, and pray.

Let us entrust our departed loved ones to God’s infinite mercy. May our prayers today rise like incense, carrying our love to heaven. And may we find peace in knowing that those we miss are held forever in God’s embrace.

In prayer and remembrance,

Amanda Miranda
