2nd Sunday of Advent

John the Baptist has a powerful message for us this Second Sunday of Advent:

He is inviting us to make our paths straight and prepare the way of the Lord! We are beautifying and doing lots of landscaping work around our churches and making everything look straight and nice. We should also do this with our life during this Advent Season. Making our crooked paths straight and cleaning our hearts for the Messiah to dwell and journey with us until the end of times.

True Advent preparations enhance our relationship with God. The following would help us:

Advent Readings about God Emmanuel and our salvation; Advent music that is appropriate for Advent which anticipates Christ's birth; Advent prayers that bring power and strength to stay focused; Having a Christmas Tree and a Nativity Scene at home helps us stay grounded with the message of Advent; Works of mercy and charity that help us witness Christ's Love; Let all these spiritual activities this Advent Season bring us ever closer to God Emmanuel.
